Two hundred and fifty years ago, a band of patriots gathered in Philadelphia and changed the course of history. What followed was eight years of war, sacrifice, and an unshakable belief that liberty was worth fighting for. Against all odds, they defeated the greatest empire on earth and founded a republic unlike any before it. Their courage secured the blessings of liberty for generations of Americans. One year ago, @POTUS signed the Working Families @TaxCuts into law and it took only a single tax season for American families and workers to overwhelmingly benefit from lower taxes, bigger refunds, and increased take home pay. As promised, President Trump and the unity of a Republican majority in Washington delivered this landmark legislation that codifies the America First agenda and lays the foundation for a new era of American prosperity.

Today, Treasury and @IRSnews are taking a major step to strengthen the future of America’s children by accepting large philanthropic contributions of readily tradable public company stock for @TrumpAccounts. This is exactly the kind of pro-family, pro-growth, pro-American policy that helps ensure the next generation can begin life with real financial opportunity, not empty promises. By creating a practical pathway for major private giving to support children’s long-term financial security, the Trump Administration is expanding access to saving and investing in a way that rewards responsibility, generosity, and opportunity.

As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, our national prosperity remains rooted in the enduring principles of faith, family, liberty, and opportunity. Given @SenWarren’s prior celebration of the Supreme Court’s misguided decision compelling tariff refunds, one might have expected her to consider the obvious consequences. Many companies — both foreign and domestic — would simply pocket those refunds, and Japanese companies are now claiming $3 billion worth of refunds from the @USTreasury. Her latest theatrics ignore the facts. As the companies profiled here make clear, tariffs were not borne by American consumers in the way Senator Warren claimed. Fortunately for the American people, Senator Warren’s shortsighted histrionics will never dictate Trump Administration policy. Fair, reciprocal trade that puts America First will be restored, and President Trump’s tariff rates will return to where they belong.

.@SecScottBessent joined Treasury staff for a conversation on AI and the economy last week. AI is one of the defining economic opportunities of our lifetime. Under President Trump, we are advancing policies that encourage innovation and drive investment to ensure America remains the global leader in AI.

Today, Treasury opened the next nomination period for states, territories, and the District of Columbia to nominate eligible communities to be designated as Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs) as part of the Working Families Tax Cuts. @SecScottBessent highlights: “With the nomination period now open, governors have the opportunity to help direct private investment to communities that stand to benefit most. Treasury looks forward to working with states to expand economic opportunity, support job creation, and unlock long-term growth in communities across the country.”
